High School English Teacher/Dept. Chair
Description: SMA has an opening for an English/Language Arts teacher with desire and ability to recognize and cultivate quality writing. The candidate must possess a broad understanding of literature, with specific expertise in British Literature, and the ability to teach the subject matter from a Christian perspective. As the candidate will be strongly considered for the Department Head position, they must have a demonstrated record of leadership, social skills, and competency in developing Language Arts curriculum. They must exhibit a commitment to Christ and concern for students.
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in English or English related subject. Preference will be given to an individual with a Ph.D. and/or an individual certified who has extensive classroom teaching experience. Experience with international students (preferred). Effective classroom and behavior management skills. Ability to follow directions and work collegially with others. Ability to implement computer technology into the classroom

HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE MATH TEACHER
Description: SMA has an opening for an advanced mathematics teacher. Background of teaching in a college preparatory private school is a plus. The candidate must exhibit a commitment to Christ and concern for students.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Mathematics is required, a doctorate and/or certification preferred. Experience with international students (preferred). At least two years of successful teaching in a high-school setting (preferred). Effective classroom and behavior management skills. Ability to follow directions and work collegially with others. Ability to implement basic computer skills.
